I’ve been watching anime for over 13 to 15 years, and I’ve seen a lot of great shows. But in 2023, there are a few comedy and sci-fi anime that I’m really enjoying right now. Here are my 5 pick:

ME & ROBOCO

Synopsis: In a future where robots are commonplace, 10-year-old Akito Taira dreams of owning a maid robot just like his friends. But when he finally gets his wish, the robot he receives is far from what he expected. Roboco is a hulking, clumsy robot who is more likely to destroy a house than clean it. But despite her flaws, Akito soon learns that Roboco is a loyal and caring friend. Together, they go on adventures and learn a lot about friendship and acceptance.

Personal opinion: I love the heartwarming story and the adorable characters in this anime. Akito is a relatable and likable protagonist, and I really enjoy his friendship with Roboco. The anime also has some funny moments, and I appreciate the way it tackles themes of friendship and acceptance in a lighthearted way.

Urusei Yatsura (2022)

Synopsis: This anime is a remake of the classic 1980s series of the same name. It’s a hilarious comedy about a boy named Ataru Moroboshi who is constantly being harassed by a beautiful alien princess named Lum. Lum is a powerful alien who has come to Earth to marry Ataru, but he is not interested in her at all. Despite their differences, the two of them eventually become friends and go on many wacky adventures together.

Personal opinion: I love the animation and art style in this anime. It’s very colorful and vibrant, and the character designs are all very expressive. Personal opinion: I love the strong female protagonist in this anime. Nie Yan is a determined and resourceful young woman who is not afraid to fight for what she believes in. I’m also enjoying the action-packed story, and I’m eager to see how Nie Yan’s journey unfolds.
