Tokito Meets Gyokko
In the latest episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc, the demons’ relentless onslaught continues. Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira, races against time to rescue Kanamori, who is under attack by fish demons in the village. Kanamori reveals that Tanjiro had asked him to prepare the Mist Hashira’s sword, which is already completed and stored nearby. However, before they can reach the sword, Tokito senses the presence of a powerful demon – Upper Rank Five, Gyokko!
Mitsuri Rescues the Swordsmith Village Chief
As Gyokko’s fish monster minions wreak havoc on the villagers with their razor-sharp claws, Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Hashira, arrives just in time. With a deft flick of her flexible sword, she swiftly dispatches the creatures. Mitsuri then rushes to the aid of the village chief, who is being held by an even larger fish minion with merciless clutches.
Though the chief is gravely injured, he finds joy in being held by the cute Hashira, much to Mitsuri’s delight.
Gyokko Unleashes His Power
Before Tokito can strike with his sword, Gyokko requests a quick chat. The Upper Rank demon wants to show off his “art,” a gruesome creation made from the bodies of five swordsmiths. Tokito, Kanamori, and Kotetsu are horrified by this twisted sight. When Tokito attempts to slice Gyokko’s vase, he realizes that it has no effect on the demon other than provoking his anger.
To Tokito’s dismay, vases start appearing out of nowhere, overwhelming him. While defending the swordsmiths from another demon attack, Tokito is pierced with needles. As the two swordsmiths make their escape, Tokito finds himself trapped in a seemingly impenetrable bubble of water created by Gyokko.
Tanjiro Finds His Inner Fire
Meanwhile, Tanjiro and Nezuko face off against three of the four aspects of Upper Rank Four Hantengu: Sekido, Karaku, and Urogi. Amidst the chaos and rubble, these demons hunt for the Kamado siblings. When Karaku blasts them again, Nezuko grabs Tanjiro’s sword by the blade to stay by his side.
As Nezuko’s blood drips onto Tanjiro’s blade, she uses her Blood Demon Art to set it ablaze. Tanjiro witnesses the blade turning red and realizes the power within him. Inspired by all the people who have supported him throughout his journey, Tanjiro employs his Sun Breathing technique, successfully severing the necks of all three Hantengu demons.
Genya Transforms
In his quest to slay Hantengu, Tanjiro searches for the remaining demon, Aizetsu. To defeat Hantengu, all four aspects must be beheaded simultaneously. When Tanjiro locates Aizetsu’s body, he is relieved to find Genya Shinazugawa, a fellow Demon Slayer, standing in front of it. However, his relief is short-lived as Genya turns to face him – with the eyes of a demon.
